Rather than applying one identical protocol to every animal, we assess risk and make patient-specific decisions. Our standard includes preoperative examination, appropriate testing when indicated, individualized anesthesia, continuous monitoring, tissue-respectful surgery, multimodal pain management, temperature support, supervised recovery and clear home-care instructions.
Our gold standard is based on minimum anesthetic risk, a minimally invasive approach, minimum tissue trauma, controlled recovery and discharge after the patient is fully awake and ready to continue normal daily life.
Female cat spay: ovariohysterectomy
Ovariohysterectomy is the surgical removal of the ovaries and uterus. It prevents pregnancy and heat cycles and helps prevent uterine infection. The potential protective effect against mammary tumors depends on age at surgery and individual factors.
Female cats are spayed through a rice-sized incision in the left flank, with complete removal of the ovaries and uterus. Sedation and gas anesthesia are used. No external sutures or protective collar are required. After administration of the reversal agent, the cat is discharged fully awake within 4 hours. A depot antibiotic is administered; daily antibiotics, routine control or suture removal are not required.
Male cat neuter: castration
Castration is the surgical removal of the testicles. Male cats are castrated under sedation without general anesthesia. No sutures or protective collar are used. After administration of the reversal agent, the cat is discharged fully awake within 2 hours. A depot antibiotic is administered; daily antibiotics and routine control are not required.
Spaying and neutering dogs
Timing is considered together with breed, expected adult size, growth stage, orthopedic factors, lifestyle, reproductive disease and behavior. Female dogs may undergo ovariohysterectomy and male dogs castration. Larger breeds and patients with additional risks require individualized timing and planning.
Male and female dogs are treated with a minimally invasive approach designed for minimum anesthetic risk and minimum tissue trauma. Rabbits and exotic mammals

Fasting instructions, venous access, inhalational anesthesia, warming, pain control and return to feeding are species-specific. Prolonged fasting is generally inappropriate for rabbits; follow the instructions provided after examination.
Male and female rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs and suitable exotic animals are neutered using inhalational gas anesthesia without sedation. Rapidly reversible anesthesia, minimum anesthetic risk, a minimally invasive approach, minimum trauma and the highest level of welfare are targeted. Preoperative assessment
The process begins with a general examination. Heart and respiratory sounds, temperature, hydration, body condition, oral health, skin and the surgical area are evaluated. For senior patients, chronic disease or findings that increase risk, laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging may be included.
Anesthesia, monitoring and pain control
Anesthetic safety depends on more than the name of a drug. Accurate dosing, airway management, oxygen, venous access, monitoring, temperature support and supervised recovery are all essential. Inhalational gas anesthesia and reversible medications may be useful for suitable patients; the veterinarian selects the protocol individually.

Discharge and home care

At what age should a cat be neutered?

Is fasting required?
